Pleated blinds are available as Freehanging, Rooflite rectangular, Rooflite shaped, Perfect Fit and Iso-design. This wide variety of options will nearly always ensure that there is a pleated blind which will be suitable for any type of window, door or conservatory roof.

20mm System

We manufacturers both the freehanging and rooflite pleated blinds using the ultra slim 20mm pleated system. The rails we use for the manufacture of pleated blinds are aluminum and as with our roller blinds, the fabric is locked into these rails thus ensuring that there is no chance of the fabric coming away from the rails. The rails are slim-line in appearance and are available in either white or brown powder coated which ensures the rails will match virtually all window profile colours. Both the freehanging and rooflite pleated blinds are available in fabrics which perfectly match the Perfect Fit and Iso-design 20mm pleated blinds.

The pleated freehanging blind is designed to hang vertically and is best described as a cross between a roller blind and a venetian blind. It is a solid piece of 2.

Operation - Operation of freehanging pleated blinds is very similar to venetian blinds. Raising and lowering of the blind is achieved by means of colour co-ordinated pull cords the same as venetian blinds and as with venetian blinds, the pleated freehanging blind can be locked in any position between fully raised and fully lowered and the cords can be situated at either the left or right side of the blind.

The pleated roof blind is similar to the pleated freehanging blind except it is designed to operate on non vertical areas such as a conservatory roof, Velux type windows and tilt and turn windows. Pleated roof blinds have three rails, a top rail, middle rail and bottom rail. The top and bottom rail are attached to the top and bottom of the window frame that the blind is to cover. Fine nylon wires are then attached to the top rail, pass through the fabric and middle rail and then attached to the bottom rail. The nylon wires are then tensioned between the top and bottom rails. The fabric is attached to the middle rail and one of the fixed rails depending on which way the blind is to operate. The middle rail then moves between the top and bottom rails along the nylon wires taking the fabric with it and the tensioned wires hold the fabric against the window surface.

Operation - Operation of pleated roof blinds is by moving the middle rail up and down along the wires which are tensioned between the top and bottom rails. This is done manually either by hand if the blind is easily accessible or with the assistance of a specially designed pole which fits onto the middle rail if the blind is fitted to somewhere like a conservatory roof which is difficult to reach.

Unipleat - Retention System

All the pleated blinds that we manufacture are automatically supplied with the unique Unipleat pleat retention system. The Unipleat system is a cord which has tiny plastic tags equally spaced along its length and this cord is passed through the fabric with a tag behind each pleat on the back of the fabric which then prevents the pleats from dropping due to the effect of gravity. The Unipleat system ensures that the pleats of the fabric are uniformly spaced along the length of the blind and more importantly it ensures that shaped blinds retain their shape.

A wide range of 20mm pleated fabrics are available, many of which are solar reflective and available as either dim out or blackout, therefore allowing varying degrees of heat and light control. The benefits of solar reflective backed fabrics are reductions in solar gain and glare within a room during the summer and the reduction of heat loss during the winter.

Some pleated fabrics are also available as vertical and roller fabrics so allowing vertical and roller side blinds to match pleated roof blinds.

This gives you not only a tremendous choice of design in a wide variety of colours but also allows you a choice of fabrics that are:

Perfect Fit 20mm Pleated Blinds

Perfect Fit is a stylish and versatile system of window blind, designed specifically for modern UPVC windows and doors. Perfect Fit enables tensioned pleated blinds to be installed perfectly onto modern UPVC doors and windows, including tilt & turn windows. The blind is fitted within an all round frame which is then fitted to the glass bead without the need for drilling any holes into the window frame.

ISO-Design 20mm Pleated Blinds

Iso-design pleated blinds are specifically designed for modern doors, windows and conservatories. We are able to manufacture 20mm freehanging and roof blinds to match the full range of fabrics offered for Iso-design pleated blinds.
